A project for the activation, research, and dissemination of Joan Miró’s sculptural heritage linked to Mont-roig del Camp. Through two exhibitions and a mediation activity programme, it explores the relationship between Miró’s sculptural work, his creative process, and the surroundings of Mas Miró.
The title draws on an anecdote recounted by the writer Marià Manent after a visit to Joan Miró in Mont-roig. Faced with the artist’s first sculptures, Manent exclaimed: “It’s obsessive, Miró, obsessive!” An expression that captures the nature of his creative process, grounded in persistence, constant exploration, and a deep relationship with matter, objects, and the land.

The exhibition presents a selection of Joan Miró’s original plaster casts held at Mas Miró. Beyond being the preliminary models for bronze casting, these pieces hold great artistic value in their own right and offer insight into the artist’s process of research and experimentation. The show highlights the essential role of the first studio Miró built at the Mas, closely tied to the Mont-roig landscape, in shaping his sculptural language.

This intervention by Lola Lasurt activates the heritage of Mas Miró through the objects Joan Miró incorporated into his sculptures and the ballet Jeux d’enfants, for which Miró designed the set and costumes. Through a staged, performative installation, the piece recovers the biography of these objects — the people who used them, the spaces they inhabited, and the stories attached to them — inviting visitors to discover Miró’s legacy through memory, imagination, and play.
