Centre Cultural Església Vella de Mont-roig 16/06-03/09/2023
On 17 June 2023, a new exhibition opens its doors at the Centre Cultural Església Vella of Mont-roig. A collaboration between the Town Council of Mont-roig, the Successió Miró and the Mas Miró Foundation.
Inside the exhibition you will find family photographs of the Masia and its surroundings, the village of Mont-roig and its customs, which were not only Joan Miró’s refuge, but also places that have deeply marked his family.
This exhibition is based on the family photograph albums kept at the home of Maria Dolors Miró, the artist’s daughter. Like him, Miró’s family spent long periods at Mas Miró, especially during the summer. At Mas Miró, David, Emili, Joan and Teo, the artist’s grandchildren, lived many of the best moments of their childhood and adolescence.
